Originally from Austin, Texas, with family roots in Mexico, David earned a B.S. in Physical Education with a minor in Exercise and Sports Studies from Southwestern University.

After graduating in 2016, he moved to Madrid, Spain to begin his coaching education, earning UEFA A and B equivalents (Nivel 1 and 2). He returned to Austin in 2018 to coach players aged 2 to 16 with Super Soccer Stars and Lonestar SC.

In 2020, David moved back to Madrid to gain more international experience as assistant coach for CD Móstoles URJC’s Juvenil C team (U17 to U19) in Spain’s top regional division, focusing on session planning, opponent analysis, and technical development.

Since 2021, he has coached at the Austin FC Academy across U12 to U15 age groups, supported older groups in IDP sessions, and most recently led the U14s. His work contributed to player progressions to national ID camps, youth national teams, top collegiate programs, and Austin FC II. David blends his international experience with his MLS academy background to support technical, tactical, and above all, personal growth in high-performance environments.

Outside coaching, he enjoys playing in local Sunday leagues, following various sports, especially when the Mexican National Team plays, and spending time with family and friends in Austin. David also enjoys watching TV shows and movies with his wife, Iryna, and cherishes traveling with her during the breaks.
