Waylon grew up in West Texas and later moved between Austin, California, and Colorado while working as a software engineer at Google.

A lifelong soccer player, he began coaching youth teams in 2014. Since then, he’s coached recreational, Junior Academy, and competitive teams, and now serves as a South Texas ODP assistant coach. He holds all grassroots licenses, as well as U.S. Soccer National D and C licenses. Both his daughters play competitive soccer—teams he helped coach them into.

Waylon’s coaching philosophy is simple: keep it fun and challenge each player to grow on and off the field. With a focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and game IQ, he’s helped many players move from recreational to elite soccer.

Soccer remains his passion—on the field with young players and at home with his family.
