Originally an Air Force kid, Waylon grew up in West Texas and Austin before moving between California, Austin, and Colorado for his work as a software engineer at Google.

A lifelong soccer player, he has played at several amateur levels before starting to coach youth soccer in 2014. Over the years he’s coached many soccer teams in Austin and Colorado, both in recreational and Junior Academies. He holds all grassroots licenses and is currently working on his National D license. He has two daughters, both who play competitive soccer, both of whom he’s coached into competitive soccer.

His ultimate goal in coaching youth soccer is simple: keep it fun, and challenge each child individually to become their best selves on and off the field. With a focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and developing a head for the game, he’s had great success bringing new players through recreational programs and into competitive soccer. His approach keeps kids playing together for years.

Ultimately, Waylon loves being involved in the game he loves, sharing it with his family, and with youth players.
