Originally from Chisinau, Moldova, Igor began playing soccer as a goalkeeper at 8, when he played for Youth Sports Club Buiucani Chisinau. He was part of the U16 Moldovan National Team and played for FC Rapid Chisinau in the National Moldovan Division. He attended State University of Moldova and was part of the University Soccer team as a goalkeeper.

He came to the USA where he began his coaching career in 2015 at Big Cat Goalkeeping in Chicago. He joined as the Director of Goalkeeping Coaching at the iProSkills Academy in Chicago. He coached boys and girls aged 7 – 14, for both High School Varsity and Academy levels.

Igor’s favorite soccer clubs are Juventus Torino, Real Madrid and Manchester United. As hobbies, Igor likes to play recreational soccer, read books, play ukulele, outdoor camping, and watch UCL matches.
