Taylor grew up in Virginia, where he started playing soccer. He captained his JV and Varsity teams through high school and won back to back state championships with the McLean Hurricanes.

Taylor went on to study at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree. He subsequently attended Law School at The American University in Washington D.C. where he obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree.

He then went on to work in the corporate legal arena in Washington DC for about 5 years until he realized that his heart was no longer in it and decided to abruptly quit his job and move out to Austin, Texas.

When he got out to Austin he started playing pickup soccer a few nights a week, which then turned into almost every night of the week and Taylor found himself thinking about the potential of picking up coaching. He ended up starting his coaching career in 2022 with Barca Academy up in Round Rock, Texas and moved to FC Westlake the following year. Getting into coaching has been the most rewarding life choice he’s ever made.
